Lake Eyre - full of water as seen from above

We took a flight over Lake Eyre. Here we are outside the Cessna with pilot Ash, a young man from Perth.

The salt crusts in the water. Lake Eyre is almost full, something that happens about every 80 years. The salt content is about 7 times that of the sea.


Pink algae in the shallow parts.

And yet another photo. It is such an incredible sight to see this usually dry salt encrusted basin with so much water.
